What is Kingston University Students Union (KUSU)?
The Student Union (SU) is an unincorporated association with exempt charitable status. It aims to advance the education of its members and students of the University as a whole, representing the interests and needs of its members. The Union acts as a channel of communication in dealing with the University and other bodies. We promote and protect the welfare of its members, encouraging and co-ordinate students clubs, societies, sports and activities.
We aim to provide the ultimate student experience through representation, excellence and professionalism.
How do I become a member of the Students' Union?
All students who are registered at the University, over the age of 16, are members of the Students' Union.
What is a Sabbatical Officer?
A sabbatical is a student who takes a year out of study to work full time for their Students' Union. KUSU has 4 sabbaticals who are elected by a cross campus ballot; they are president, VP student activities, VP student support & VP student media.
What is a Union Executive?
The "Exec" are elected students, who run the union for you. Four are full-time Sabbatical Officers and 15 are part time officers including “liberation� officers, Site Reps and minority representatives. They are responsible for implementation of union policy on a day to day basis.
