Age Concern - The Bradbury Centre
Age Concern opened the Bradbury Active Age Centre in April 2005, in Kingston upon Thames (opposite Knights Park campus). The new centre caters for the more active member who wants to get involved in many pursuits. Their mission is to enable older people in the borough to live with choice, independence and dignity. Join this opportunity and help in a variety of ways; teach members IT or mobile phone use, run a dance class, assist with lunches and help on reception or just chat to the members. Age Concern, Raleigh House, is based in New Malden in a beautiful setting and grounds. The centre has a lovely new dining room, with many facilities for all their members. The Age Concern mission is to enable older people in the borough to live with choice, dignity and independence. You can teach members IT and Internet, teach members to use mobile phones, assist with lunches or just chat to members.

Kingston and Richmond Law Centre
The Law Centre advises individuals in regards to social welfare aspects of the law. They advise individuals from low income backgrounds and manage sessions which give free access to legal advice for the general public. The Law Centre take on case that clarify and extend rights for the public. It provides legal education, training and information about the law and people's rights. The individual will be required to: answer calls and direct to relevant solicitor or an alternative source of help, help prepare trial bundles for court, carry out general administrative duties including faxing, photocopying and typing. Learn English At Home
LEAH trains and supports volunteer tutors teaching non-English speaking residents who, for various reasons, are unable to attend English classes (e.g. have young children at home or a disability). Roles areas follows: Volunteer Tutor visits a student’s home once a week to teach them English. Students are often isolated and benefit hugely from the one-to-one help. They focus on practical language e.g. for shopping, handling money, attending a doctor’s appointment and travelling on public transport. For more information contact Alex.

Metropolitan Police Service
The Metropolitan Police Service is famed around the world and has a unique place in the history of policing. It is by far the largest of the police services that operate in greater London. Kingston Borough Police are offering the opportunity to become part of the extended police family by volunteering. The primary aim of the programme is to get local communities more closely involved with their policing and so improve the service they offer. There are many varied and interesting roles available including: assisting at the front desk of the local police stations, providing administrative support and training to become a special constable.
