Get Training and STAND OUT with HEAD START

Our Student Development department is there for you to get the most out of student life and through our activities equip you for the future.

Head Start is KUSU's key skills training programme utilising the National Student Learning Programme (NSLP). The National Student Learning Programme aims to disseminate key skills among students through peer-based training in a cost-effective manner. Now into its ninth year, the NSLP network exceeds a total of 1200 student trainers who in turn have trained over 23,000 students in one or more key skills in their unions.

Our team of training team will be delivering the following sessions throughout the year; all sessions are free and last no longer than 2 hours. They are Fun, Interactive and  leave you full of confidence.

CV Workshop proves highly succesful!!

CV workshops have been added to the training schedule in conjunction with the careers service to help you be one step head in the ever increasing job market.

This session has been developed by Kingston Universities Careers Service in conjunction with KUSU, and aims to support the employability and personal development services on offer for students at Kingston. The session covers the format, content and the dos and don’ts of a CV. Students will be able to get further support from the careers service outside this workshop via appointments with one of the careers services advisors. So get a ‘Head Start’ on the road to employment by attending and understanding the value of a CV.
